Written by admin on Aug 17th, 2003 and posted in 2003, On the RoadNow in Fukushima Prefecture and we were greeted by rain ALL day. It wasn't just a nice misty rain but a steady pour. However we made great time and the route was flat, scenic and low traffic all day. IF only it was sunny! Going out of Sendai was actually very nice. We took the bike path along the river that paralleled 54. On 38 there's a board walk along the ocean that we followed for about 10k and then we slushed through sleepy little town after sleepy little town. The group split for a couple of days but everyone's intending on meeting in Moriya. Mel and Rachel kept pushing forward and Tamara, Lars, and James took an extra rest day in Sendai.
