BEE Japan

Bicycle for Everyone’s Earth

Hey Ya'll… Better late than never, right?

This is my first sojourn into the wacky world of the web-log so please forgive my tardiness in joining. I'm a lazy bitch… tee hee… ha ha… ahem…
ANYWAY.

The bike ride is almost frigging finished and lately the team is steeped in tired silences and inside jokes as honed and well-aged as fine wine on an acid excursion.

We frequently remember past riders and early-on stories with wistful eyes as we explain to people we meet, as well as Mitchell who has joined us for this part of the ride (a godsend to keep us all relaxed and challenging ourselves) what exactly the “Essence” of this years BEE team truly is.

I must say and I do declare in fact that it's been grand.

India's shower duets (angelic, I say damn girl, let it out don't keep it in), Daniela's well-timed lisps and hilarious antics@could you pedal any faster – I ask you – I think NOT!, Alice's cooking expertise and wonderful dreams for the future, Yuichi's “interpretive directions” – i.e. – “Yeah, just go straight I think…”, Cameron's flatulant feats – glad we got those bowels finally working buddy (his tips for chain cleaning are also fantabulous), Nerys's “Huh?”'s and ever amusing “Eh?”'s, Emilie's naturally (thank you very much) luscious lash batting, and Mitchell's award-winning socks – one must never take oneself too seriously, or all is lost.

When I began the ride I was unsure, inexperienced and anxious… now I'm just tiredbut feeling a hell of a lot more whole.

Thank you to all the members of the 2004 team, without your help, kind words and gentle shoves I never would have hauled my ass across Japan. You have taught me more than I ever could have imagined …

Sometimes over the past two months I have glanced down at my whurring feet and pedals – inches from the road and thought it impossible that my very own legs and feet could pedal me so far, or that with such good company I could feel so free, flying along above the road.

Besos y abrazos,
Moving forward till the end,
Love and love,
Jennie
