Aug 24th BEE Charity Concert
Written by Juank on Sep 2nd, 2008 and posted in 2008, Event_ArchiveOn the 24th of August we had our first BEE Charity Concert in Tokyo at the Pink Cow. It was a rainy day and not so many people showed up, but the people who came were great, and so were the artists!
We started the night with DJ Sardaukar, followed by a short presentation of BEE Japan, and beautiful singing by Ben Kemp. We then had a presentation by The Sloth Club and 9LOVE, two of the groups who joined us for the event. I’ve know this groups for a while already, and they are totally awesome, they always come with creative way of spreading their message wether it is about the environment, peace, love, slow leaving, or simply being happy.
9LOVE didnt miss the chance in our event either, and they had us dance Bonodori (a traditional Japanese dance, usually dance in summer going around a big drum in the center, lots of fun!), so that we could practice for their next Peace Walk event coming on September 6th around the Shibuya area. Be sure to join them if you are all about peace! or just if you like to have some fun time dancing around the streets of Shibuya. For more details click here!
After doing some Japanese dancing, we enjoyed belly dancing by the group Rosa Mystica, followed by YUGO’s band music, and ended up the night listening to Yukio Yokohama’s tribal music. We also were able to enjoy Ryu’s live painting while other musicians were playing.
The line-up for the event was amazing, a really nice concerned group of singers, dancers, and artists, as well as nice people joining us and sharing their interest and concerns for cycling, travelling, the environment, and our beloved Earth. It was a good opportunity for me to get into the BEE spirit, and get all excited about joining the ride soon!
