琵琶湖一周 Lindsey & Salem’s race around Biwa
Written by Salem on Jul 12th, 2009 and posted in 2009, TrainingNo, we weren’t racing each other, but in a field of about 100 riders, Lindsey and I placed 6th and 7th, circling 150 km around Japan’s biggest lake in just 5 hours and 5 minutes! That’s an average of just under 30km/hour, giving our all in while training for the BEE 2009 Ride which departs in almost exactly 3 weeks! Here’s our course brought to you by BEE Japan sponsor Map My Ride:
The race was organized by Osaka based Cycle Craft, and the president let us make a short plug for BEE before the ride. I hope many people who were there today are checking out the site right now!
As for today’s ride, busting our asses today gives me a lot of confidence about this summer! Especially toward the end when our energy levels were waning, Lindsey and I really pushed hard and covered for each other & giving each other windshield to catch our breath and recharge for the home stretch of hills and final bridge between Moriyama and Katata. I wish we could’ve made the trip with the entire BEE team, but as everyone is currently spread out across the country, it would have been pretty difficult for us all of convene for the Biwako race.
In other news, the B・B Dylan pension where we stayed the night before had a really cute beagle! Will add photos to our Flickr photostream!
Peace,
Salem

Sounds like an awesome ride, congrats to both of you!
HARD CORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
