We’re staying at Kaori Ishida-san’s house right now, all 7 of us in her spacious 8th floor apartment overlooking the western hills surrounding Sapporo.  We we’re originally going to stay in a guest house, but Kaori offered to put us all up for the night!  And with 7 sweaty, hot BEEs making themselves at home, that goes a long way!  Kaori-san founded and has been leading a group called Kiraku since 2004 that promotes taking care of the environment and peace.  She’s great and really cheerful, and we’re having a great time relaxing at her house for the first time in a while.

今日久しぶり休憩ができて、今石田かおりさんのアパートに泊っています。札幌にある８階で景色はすばらしいです。かおりさんは嬉楽というエコ活動しているグループを２００４年に始めて、とても優しい人です！

Just now, one of Kaori-san’s friends came over: enter Masa-kun.  Masa-kun is collecting one yen coins for the Wonderful World Tree-Planting Festival, lead by world-walker Paul Coleman to plant trees in South Africa.  Masa-kun will take off on the 29th of this month.  Please check out the link, it’s an amazing project!  I’ll put up some photos on Flickr tonight if I can stay awake long enough to.
