BEE 2010 Beneficiaries

In addition to our commitment to raise awareness about environmental issues, such as global warming, decreasing biodiversity, deforestation, and the slew of problems facing our generation, BEE is proud to raise money for other like-minded organizations.

Beyond the humble target we have to raise money to make BEE possible this year and in future years, BEE Japan 2010 will donate all (100%) of it’s earnings to the following non-profit organization.  This group has been chosen by the BEE Japan 2010 riders because we respect their commitment to trying to make the earth a more sustainable and enlightened place.

Japan for Sustainability (http://www.japanfs.org)

“Japan for Sustainability (JFS), established in 2002, is a non-profit organization providing information on developments and activities in Japan that lead toward sustainability…

The mission of Japan for Sustainability is to make this world a more sustainable place for current and future generations, by

  • delivering to the world useful ideas and information on the latest developments and activities in Japan that promote sustainability, and
  • providing a communication platform and information to help people envision a sustainable future and to seek ideas that can fill the gaps between our current society and the sustainable future society we would like to live in.

To reverse the current declining trends in sustainability, we aim to be a “fountain of hope” by offering positive information that inspires and empowers the people of the world.

Thus, Japan for Sustainability also functions as “World for Sustainability.”

We provide opportunities to share news about the latest noteworthy initiatives in Japan and the world and to communicate, learn, and develop ideas together, in order to accelerate progress toward a more sustainable world.
To move Japan toward sustainability, we identify and describe the gaps between visions of a sustainable Japan and the current status. By raising awareness, we promote national debate on how Japan can create a sustainable society and provide opportunities for dialogue about how we can make a comprehensive national strategy to become more sustainable.
We seek leverage points that can move Japan toward sustainability, and offer communication platforms as levers of change.
We believe that the younger generation is important as a leverage point of change. We offer them opportunities to learn and ask what sustainability is, and how we can create a sustainable society. We help them develop their own ideas and envision the future, and give them the tools to be change makers.”
