Bronwyn

Hi everyone! My name is Bronwyn Beck, and I am currently working as a CIR in the Tottori Prefectural Government. I was born and raised in Memphis, TN, but my heart belongs to Los Angeles, CA, where I spent six years before coming to Japan. My hobbies include traveling, hiking, camping, cooking, and of course cycling around beautiful Tottori Prefecture with my husband, Jon. I’m interested in ways to create more sustainable societies both in Japan and back home by reducing waste and developing new, energy-efficient technologies that take a less devastating toll on our limited natural resources. Not only do I hope to spread this message while on the BEE ride, but I look forward to the ways in which I myself can learn to live more sustainably by adhering to the BEE principles. I also can’t wait to experience Japan via a two-month bicycle tour, which I think will not only offer an intimate glimpse of this country but will also be the perfect way to say goodbye before I return to California in the autumn. 皆さん、こんにちは！鳥取県庁で国際交流員として働いている、ブロンウィン・ベックと申します。ブロンと呼んでくださいね。テネシー州メンフィス市に生まれましたが、ふるさとだと懐かしく感じているところは6年間暮らしていたロサンゼルスです。趣味が色々ありますが、旅行、ハイキング、キャンピング、料理、そして美しい鳥取県を旦那さんのジョンと一緒に自転車で走ることが大好きです。環境問題について興味があるのは、廃棄物の発生量を減らし、限られている天然資源を無駄に遣わない新しい省エネ技術をとおして、日本と世界各国で持続可能な社会を構築することです。BEE Rideの間でこのメッセージを伝えたいだけではなく、BEEの目標を目指すことにより自分自身もより持続可能な生活をしたいと考えています。さらに、2ヶ月のサイクリングツアーの間で日本を見ることに大変楽しみにしています。本年の秋に帰国する前に日本を深く経験し、完璧な「さようなら」になると思います。よろしくお願いします！
